This year, 2019, the National Day Parade (NDP) is coming back to Padang and fireworks will be set off from different locations.
If you are bored of the usual spots to view fireworks and don't want to fight through the crowd, check out our list of best-kept secret locations to watch the spectacular display.
1. Funan Mall

The urban farm in the newly opened Funan is indeed a vantage point to catch the NDP fireworks. Did you every think of that? The urban farm overlooks the Marina Bay and despite the surroundings which has pretty tall buildings, you will still be able to catch the spectacle! You can even head a few levels higher to the rooftop garden which even has lounge chairs for you to cozy up.
2. Benjamin Sheares Bridge

As it overlooks the Bay area, the Benjamin Sheares Bridge is a strategic location to watch the fireworks. Bring along your trusted Nixon DSLR and find a spot that allows you to capture the entire display.
3. Victoria Theatre

Due to its close proximity, just a five-minute walk away from Padang, being at Victoria Theatre will make you feel like you are actually part of the celebrations and be able to catch the display unfold right before your eyes.
4. Marina South Pier

Ferries and boats from the Marina South Pier has unobstructed views of the Central Business District. Why not book one and head up to the roof garden to secure a spot to enjoy the fireworks away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
5. High Street Centre Carpark

This carpark is located just opposite the Parliament House which will give you a splendid scene of fireworks peeking from behind the Parliament House.
6. Bras Basah Complex
Block 233 of Bras Basah Complex is in close proximity to the parade.
7. Toa Payoh Central
Block 79E of Toa Payoh Central is the highest block in the area with a whopping 40 floors.You will definitely be able to view the fireworks display and the cityscape.

The mobile column will be making its way to the various National Day Carnivals and bringing the fireworks to your neighbourhood. The display will last about four minutes at each location.
